farewell Colorado, hello California

Always ready for sun and adventure.

It’s hard to imagine we just left Colorado two weeks ago, with now fond memories of friends and farewells.  Palm and citrus trees have replaced our view of the Rockies.  And familiarity of a place that had become home is replaced with the excitement and uncertainty of a new community.  Colorado you were good to us.  Thank you for the memories, for being our boys first home, providing them with so many great first, and hopefully, some life long friends.  Thank you to all who gave us such wonderful send offs!  You are much appreciated and greatly missed.

The drive to Loma Linda couldn’t have gone better, with much thanks to Nana for helping to entertain the boys and make each stop along the way exciting.  We jumped on hotel beds, ate milk shakes and lollipops, collected insects at nearly every stop, sang silly songs, played games and watched movies to pass the time. After three days of travel we arrived without having a single conflict (minus one small argument over who got the last carrot), the car still running, boys in smiles, and mom and Nana only “slightly” exhausted.

Since arriving in California we quickly got settled in our new home and have been enjoying discovering new parks and beaches.  The boys were astonished by the ocean and are wishing we lived even closer to the beach.  They love having a yard and spend hours each day exploring outside.  They are adjusting well, becoming even closer buddies through it all.
